Can You See Me Now? The Future of Video Chat
Can it be as easy as moving the camera from the “back” to the “front”? Probably, in the case of Video chat. I predict this will take off in a big way as one of those “why didn’t we think of this sooner” moments. However, I still need the camera on the “back” too - I assume the phone manufacturers will figure that out quickly.

Interesting development from Google today - I would guess it is a play to get the big carriers to change their ways faster. Getting into the fiber business is pretty different from where they have been, and given the recent track record with their mobile phone I think they are pushing the envelope and trying to be too much too soon. I just dialed the iphone help desk 3 times and got disconnected by the Automated attendant transfer 3 times! Great customer service so far! Trying the 4th time now - keep telling me they will get me right over to someone in tech support that can help with my iPhone!

Chetan Sharma talks about mobile advertising - I’m reading (listening actually) the book “what would Google do” (WWGD) and they suggest Google sees mobile advertising even bigger than online advertising. It makes sense - alot more devices and ways to get advertising to the people - and getting the people is the key. Mobile platforms are definitely closer to the person.

Mozy for Backup
My company, EMC, is offering Mozy for the holidays. Backup software for your home computer… and it really works. I have it on my home PC and had a disk crash - I was able to recover all my files without an issue. Client Meetings
It always amazes me that so many people want to go into a client meeting presenting the “stuff” that they prepare with no thinking about what the dialog should be. I maintain that we make the most progress with the client when we listen at least as much as we talk.
